When Filson, a renowned manufacturer of high quality luggage, bags, and outerwear decided to renovate their Seattle facility they had a desire to utilize building materials that were of the highest quality and representative of their approach to the design and manufacture of their own products.

Filson manufactures all of their creations by hand in Seattle, and in keeping with their own culture, sourcing as many materials from local manufacturers was a priority. Fortunately just 30 miles up Interstate 5 was a company that shared the same values.

While much of the remodel involved a major rework of the interior of the building, the façade received a significant upgrade when Quantum was brought on board to manufacture custom wood store front systems for the front and rear elevations. Utilizing our Classic Series window common mullion system we were able design and manufacture large, seamless custom assemblies, the largest being over 108 square feet in size.

Another request was that the interior of the storefront have a similar appearance to the exterior and mimic the appearance of historic putty-glazed windows. We were able to satisfy this desire with custom, beveled true-divided-lites. We added that same bevel to our common mullion profile to complete the aesthetic.

A handful of interior storefront systems and custom interior doors topped off the package, and the end result is a World Headquarters that truly captures the spirit of the Filson brand.
